Out of approximately 12 percent of schools in the state, Somerset Academy Oaks is among the 835 schools in Texas that made the Honor Roll. This prestigious designation is based on STAAR testing results provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) over the past four years. To qualify, schools and districts had to perform above the mean at least 80 percent of the time for all cohorts of students and grade levels served. The "Star" ranking was awarded to schools and districts where 33 percent or more of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged.

The Honor Roll program is part of a national initiative that engages business leaders in recognizing successful schools and educational systems while promoting best practices that improve student outcomes. Honor Roll schools are celebrated for demonstrating consistently higher levels of student achievement, improvement over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among diverse student populations.
